As members of the Church we are called upon to preserve the dignity of all human life, to care for creation, and to reach out to our sisters and brothers in need. These principles are at the heart of Catholic Social Teaching and, as such, are central to our Catholic Faith. They all begin from our mission to love, which has its source, as Pope Francis puts it, “in the heart of the Trinity”. The Holy Father emphasises that it is our duty to work together to bring about a more just and peaceful world, to put love into action through how we live our lives. This Autumn’s faith-sharing season will help small groups explore our faith in a God of love and our responsibility to put faith into practice. Participants will be renewed in the social teaching of their faith, and supported to commit to practical expressions of Christian social action. Who knows what it might spark!

The faith-sharing material provides weekly sessions over a six week period, commencing the week of Sunday 8th October, and culminates with the celebration of the first World Day of the Poor, inaugurated by Pope Francis, on Sunday 19th November. The course could be a great way for you and your parish to prepare for this important day.
